NYDC is excited to announce three summer schools for August 2023.
Each of our summer schools will be delivered in collaboration with Studio Wayne McGregor as part of our ten year anniversary celebrations in this special year.
As our current Guest Artistic Director, Wayne McGregor has created a brand new work for the company, Novacene, which is currently touring the country. Our summer schools will give dancers an insight into the NYDC process this year, working directly with the artists from Studio Wayne McGregor. Alongside this you will meet current dancers from the company as well as the NYDC team, and find out more about life in the country’s flagship youth dance company.
The aim of our summer schools is to bring even more dancers into the NYDC world.
If you love to dance
If you want to learn new skills and be creative
If you want to meet other people with the same passion as you
If you think you might want to join NYDC in the future
Then one of our Summer Schools could be for you.

For the third year we will be running a residential summer school at Warwick University. This summer school will give dancers a more in depth insight into NYDC, living and rehearsing together as a company for 4 days.
Who for:
Working inclusively is a key element of NYDC. There are just 12 places on this course and a large proportion are held for disabled dancers. The small group size means we can be very bespoke with the support we are able to offer all the young people so please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions about whether your support needs can be met.
Where: University of Warwick, Coventry, CV4 7AL
How to apply: Application is through our website. There is a simple form for you to complete and return to us along with a short video of you dancing. Some dancers will then be invited to have an informal chat online (along with parents/ carers/ guardians) with a member of the NYDC team to get to know you better and find out more about why you want to do the course.
Cost: The cost of this summer school is £150. This includes accommodation and food during the course but travel expenses are additional.
Bursaries are available to cover the full cost of the programme for any dancer who needs this support.
Closing Date: 14th July 2023
